Congratulations to Franco Campanello! The City of Boston named the South End gardener the first-place winner in the Pollinator Garden category of the 2026 Mayor’s Garden Contest. His award is a celebration of the care gardeners bring to our neighborhood.

Recognition for a South End Gardener

The 30th annual contest celebrated gardening across Boston, from small outdoor spaces to community gardens. First-place winners received a Golden Trowel from Mayor Michelle Wu. Franco’s plaque records his first-place Pollinator Garden win, and the photos here capture him with the award.
