Karen Hohler

Garden Steward Karen Hohler collected Monarch Butterfly eggs laid on the milkweeds.  She tended them through to maturity and released almost 24 fledgling butterflies onto The Corridor.  We will have a full article highlighting Karen's efforts soon.

Scott Romney

From painting fences and fountains to shoveling mulch, pruning and watering The Corridor through the summer; if it needs to be done, Scott is there to do it.  For all the work you do for the park, we give you, our thanks.

Southwest Corridor Park Action Plan

A community-driven vision for the future of the Southwest Corridor Park

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) has initiated a multi-year project to focus on the entire 4-mile Southwest Corridor Park.

The project's aim is to create a vision for the park's future, balance opportunities to be visionary yet actionable, celebrate the park's history, and incorporate strategies to adapt to climate change.

The project schedule includes a master plan completion in summer 2024 and three implementation phases. The action plan elements include a corridor-wide design identity, mobility and access improvements, park and recreation facilities, natural and cultural resource assessments, and an implementation strategy.
